Written interview between Founders of Fast Seduction Website  www.fastseduction.com  And Mark ..Seduction King ... of the Sex, Seduction & Strip Clubs Podcast  http://MarkJryan.com/podcast2.html

After a few emails back and forth between myself and the owners @ FastSeduction.com. They graciously agreed to give a written interview for the Sex, Seduction & Strip Clubs Podcast. I tried to get them on for an Audio interview, like the one i did with Ross Jeffries , but they declined based on the request that they prefer to remain anonymous. From some of the crap i have put up with on my Podcast show, from making myself public...i can appreciate that request and will honor it.

www.fastseduction.com is a GREAT site to go to and learn what others in the Seduction community are doing and what the members have found works.

I highly recommend it and wish to thank TokyoPUA and Formhandle ( Founders  of  Fast Seduction Website ) for taking the time to introduce it to us by granting this interview

Where did you get the idea to start the website?

Formhandle started FastSeduction.com on a cold Boston Monday, September 20th, 1999 to be exact. At that time he was simply trying to make sure that the posts from the internet USENet group alt.seduction.fast would be archived and all the great content there would not be lost in case somebody arbitrarily decided to shut it all down one day. It seemed to be good foresight since, about a year later, Google bought DejaNews, which at the time was the only reliable web-based service that archived USENet, and no archives were available for nearly a year until Google finally brought out an ultra-beta version of Google Groups.

How did you go about starting it?

Formhandle:

At first it was simple. I simply made an archive available and added a few extra pages. It actually wasn’t hosted off it’s own FastSeduction.com domain at the time, for the first couple weeks it was more like a glorified Geocities site :) I’ve always preferred to self-host web sites and, at that time, it was hosted on my cable Internet connection. I realized at some point that it would be a good idea to add more features to the site which would be helpful to people and I wanted to stick to a principle of making all the initial features freely accessible, and still do. Some features were new ideas like PAIR (Pickup Artist International Registry – essentially a wingman database) but others were more core resources like FAQs and link pages, that sort of thing.

What kinds of pitfalls did you run up against?

Formhandle:

Initially it was the same as any other site runs into – putting pages and resources together, writing code, keeping things fresh and useful for people. In addition, it made sense about a year in to start hosting off a “business class” DSL line (a whopping $299/mo! HA!). There was one point where the line was down for 3 days because the telephone company accidentally gave my digital line to a regular phone subscriber on my street (they’ll remain nameless but I will say their name rhymes with Derizon). The line was not super-reliable and the traffic gradually increased and one of the biggest issues was maintaining reliability while also adding features and keeping the resources up-to-date by myself, all while having regular 9-5 jobs.
Another big pitfall, for me anyway, is that my background is not computer science or even web development. I have a BFA in illustration and my goals graduating college was make a living being an artist (I suppose that’s what I am now, but with the word “pickup” thrown before it). So while I was handling my regular work, I slowly taught myself what I needed to know for all kinds of web-related technologies. I think at this point someone owes me a Computer Science degree!

Any funny stories...starting out or along the way?

Formhandle:

Well when you start a site like this, you realize pretty quickly just how likely it is to get strange calls from people, and do things you never would have thought necessary before – like having an unlisted number, and privatizing your domain records, being careful about providing too much access to your personal information than people really need. That negative stuff being put aside, funny stories are when you become good friends with your local wings (wingmen) and find out pretty coincidentally that you’ve both picked up the same girl in 2 totally different situations/places! That’s happened to me twice. In a city full of 125,000 college girls, and another 100,000 or so young professional women, you’d think the odds would be pretty low… or maybe I went overboard way back when first starting out ;)
I think also TokyoPUA can recount some interesting stories of us running into “natural” pickup artists. One guy in particular always put us in stitches and some of the stories kill us even today… Tokyo?

TokyoPUA:

Well, yeah, there was this one guy that we met by introducing ourselves to him after watching him do a clearly expert pickup on a really hot Greek chick in the local mall. He turned out to be from Morocco, and we could never figure out what he really did for a living (he played guitar for meals at nearby posh restaurants, claimed to be a soccer player, a masseuse, etc.). The guy also sounded like he was a gigolo in South Beach at some point. He also sold me 2 suits for very cheap at one point…
Anyway, one memorable story winging with him was one winter night where we walked by this restaurant with a table of 6 hot women inside. He stopped in front of the window and did some IOIs, but didn’t get a good reaction. So he breathes on the cold glass to fog it up, and proceeds to draw a heart shape… but he doesn’t really connect the bottom part of the heart. The women think he is sappy and just sort of rolled their eyes, at which point he extends the bottom part of the “heart” into what turns out to be the shape of a dick hanging down (with the “heart” actually being the balls). We all just crack up and walk off laughing while these chicks are frozen in shock with their mouths open. Classic Moroccan PUA, lol!

How about some favorite success stories? on the site or outside

Formhandle:

In terms of pickup, I think my personal favorite “success” was when I first realized that a guy like me could meet a girl and on that same day be able to consensually lead her back to my place to “check out my etchings”. At that time, I was living outside the city and had to drive in to do any kind of practical street pickup. I was bombing all day that day and was about to give up when I saw a cute girl walking by in the park and decided to walk up and open her. She was from out of town and about 4 hours later, I was driving her to my place. I was so flabbergasted at this kind of result that when we were making out on my bed I was thinking, “I can’t believe I pulled this off. Is this wrong? I totally controlled this outcome… WTF?” It really was a new feeling, like being endowed with a secret superpower.

Why do you keep doing it? any personal satisfaction still in it?

TokyoPUA:

I would have to say we keep doing it because of the sense of community that has come about from the site and because of the constant feedback we get from guys who have had their lives changed for the better as a result of using the site. There is still a lot of personal satisfaction in it due to this, but of course there is the flip side of having some guys get on our boards and whine about small things when they are getting a free service.
And there are the fringe benefits like the PUA groupies, the wild parties we get invited to, meeting with Trump to give him private consultations on how to pick up models, the million dollar donations from dot.com billionaires who cant score without reading our site. But seriously, we do get access to just about any PU related seminar we want to go to, and its always fun to meet up with the boys. Otherwise readers should know that these days it’s a hell of a lot of work for both of us, on average about 60 hours per week for the last 9 months straight, no joke.

Formhandle:

Yeah, that pretty much caps it for me too. And the past few months have been harsh for us time-wise, but I think everyone will be happy with the results once we let them loose.

Had you taken any courses on Seduction? if so what?

You name a seminar, we have probably sat in on it at some point or another. This was a big fringe benefit when we first started out, but recently it’s lost a bit of its appeal and become more like work these days when we go review a seminar. I guess like they say, too much of any good thing can become boring.

TokyoPUA:

Between Formhandle and I we have just about seen and done it all. Just about any big name in our niche someone would recognize, we’ve been to their seminars or workshops at least once. And for the people who don’t run seminars or workshops, we’ve still met and hung out with just about everyone. To name any one in particular would do injustice to all the great guys we would have to leave out!

Formhandle:

I took a course once in college called “How to bang a stripper’s hotter friend”. It was a prerequisite for a painting class. Does that count?”

How about books or audio-visual ?

Since we maintain ourselves as the top resource for pickup and seduction content, as well as being the defacto center of the seduction community, we’ve read or seen products by pretty much anyone and everyone that has a product they can send us to review, whether CDs, DVDs, ebooks, printed books, or strap-on sex toys (just kidding). This may be hard to believe but we’ve forgotten more material by now than we remember!

How has the Seduction Material helped both of you in your lives?

( Besides financially...of course :-)  )

We have to disclaim here that the “financial” benefits you allude to here have been negative so far compared to our old day jobs by over a factor of ½ each. And Formhandle ran the site for the first 2 years entirely out of his pocket. We hope to at least break even some day, but for now we’re doing what we enjoy and the goal is for the “business” of it to become our lifestyle. Its less romantic running a free website than being a PU guru selling tons of products.

TokyoPUA:

Well, the NLP based stuff was the most mind altering if for no other reason than the general concept of state control, which has been really helpful to me in business and my personal life. Actively studying evolutional psychology and has been a major epiphany for me in understanding the motivations of both men and women (Freud seems very outdated to me in many areas). Putting these two things together really has helped me have success both with women and with life in general.

Formhandle:

Isn’t this one of those questions with an obvious answer? :) Seriously, except for the past few months as working like a dog, it’s given me control in an area of my life that I didn’t have control of before. I tend to be an overachiever for many things but for some reason up til a few years ago an underachiever with women. Simply put, things are different now :)
Has the website changed over the years?  What and Why?

Formhandle:

In some ways FastSeduction.com has changed a lot over the years, and in other ways not that much. For example, other than performance improvements and occasional tweaks/improvements, I haven’t (yet) done a big revamp of the post archive, simply because it’s one of those things that at least mostly works the way it is and I’m usually always distracted by other more immediate stuff. In contrast, the mASF Forum has been improved quite a lot over the years and, although I can’t talk about the details, is getting close to another huge revamp. The things that tend to change most often are the things which have a more immediate impact on the kind of resources and content that people seem to want. They’re the things that get the most attention from me and get updated and improved more often. It’s still just myself (doing web & technicals) and TokyoPUA (doing more marketing and business-y stuff) running the whole thing, along with a couple fresh interns.
One thing is for sure that this year FastSeduction.com will be going through a lot of major improvements and have lots of additional resources added, and current resources improved. This will be tough to do because I also have to ensure it also becomes easier to use and less overwhelming to new vistors.

Who uses the site?  Any women?

The site is mostly used by men for obvious reasons, but we don’t discriminate, women are welcome, too. There is a section of our mASF Forum called the Playettes board where women are encouraged to discuss how they seduce men.

Formhandle:

Actually, it’s the same person visiting our site over & over… it’s true!
Why do they like your site so much? What do you think is the reason your site has become so successful as opposed to other sites or boards?
We have always tried to make the site about the users, not about us. The fact that there is so much free information doesn’t hurt either! There are over 400,000 posts that are searchable on the site, in addition to the free guides like the player guide, etc. Also, there is P.A.I.R. feature that guys can use to find wingmen in their area. We have reviews of commercial products, some done by us, and others that can be found in the reviews section of our forum, so guys can see what others are saying about products or services they might want to buy.
There is more than this of course, but when you put it all together, the site manages to create a community feel for what many now refer to as the “seduction community”, and that keeps guys coming back.
Who are some of your favorite contributors? Why?

TokyoPUA:

I really liked a lot of the old school guys because that is when I started out. I loved reading the posts by Maniac High because I was in Japan at the time. Also I really liked the stuff from MrSex4uNYC. These days I cant get enough of reading A2daMIR posts, he has better C&F lines than DYD and the most alpha frame I have ever read.

Formhandle:

I agree about the old school posters. It’s hard to beat their candor and ability to cut to the chase. The nice part about the site is there’s always someone new coming along who can blow people away with new insights. I like Franco’s (zarathustra_fi) posts, David Shade, Tyler Durden. Too many to remember…
Who are some of the most popular people on the site?

TokyoPUA:

Well, popularity comes and goes it seems, but posters like Tyler Durden and Mystery still draw a great crowd, but there are some new names that have great ideas. I don’t know how “popular” he has become yet, but like I said above I like posts by A2daMIR, the guy has the best verbal game I think I have ever heard, its just amazing. And he only started posting in the last half year, so its encouraging to see new talent coming in all the time.

Formhandle:

Honestly, although I may seem like the best person to answer that question, it’s really hard to tell. There are at least 100 guys who post on mASF who get hundreds of reads for every post they make and by the time the posts are expired for archiving the count is usually near 2,000 reads – per post. I think also that the perception of who is the most popular will be perceived differently by different people, depending on what they’re interested in – camaraderie, knowledge, or drama.

If you liked this format and have more questions about how to use the site or anything else about the site please let me know

Thanks,

Mark
